Why Give To JoeAnna’s House

Since launching our campaign to raise the funds necessary to build and operate JoeAnna’s House, the project has received unprecedented community support.  We were able to break ground this past October.

Knowing the on-going need we will have to support families travelling for care, we will continue our fundraising efforts. We have now turned our focus to the ongoing support that will be required to keep families safe and close to their loved ones for the many years JoeAnna’s House will be in service.

Once open, JoeAnna’s House will be operated by the KGH Foundation and will rely on the support of our community to provide accommodations for the families of patients from across the southern interior who must travel to KGH for care.

The operations of JoeAnna’s House will be solely funded through community support and will not receive government funding.

We are deeply grateful for the support of the Huber family for providing the lead gift; to Interior Health for the gift of this land; to the build committee who has been instrumental in getting us to this point; and of course, to all of you, the donors, who are making this extraordinary gift to the people of the southern interior region possible.”
