How To Give

JoeAnna’s House is made possible thanks to the generous support of people in our community.

It’s no longer the case that patients and children requiring advanced care are travelling to Vancouver, Calgary or Victoria. As the leading referral hospital for over 750,000 residents in the southern interior, at any given time, one in four beds at KGH is occupied by a patient from outside the Central Okanagan.
— Dr. Michael Ertel, Emergency Department Physician and Vice President of Medicine and Quality for Interior Health

Research Shows…

Patients heal faster and more effectively when surrounded by their loved ones. And family members bond with others through a shared experience. That’s why JoeAnna’s House is so important. It will be a home-away-from-home that will keep families together when they need it most.

Joe & Anna Huber

The inspiration behind the name.

JoeAnna’s House is the culmination of vision and intention of the Huber family of Kelowna, founders of Prestige Hotels & Resorts.

Joseph & Anna Huber settled their family in the Okanagan in the 1960s. With all family members contributing to their early endeavours in the hospitality industry, they felt very blessed to build a life that would allow them to serve others. With their giving spirit in mind, and to demonstrate kindness and caring for others, the family is proud to honour their legacy by partnering with the KGH Foundation to build JoeAnna’s House. Their lead gift of over $1 million was instrumental in initiating this project, in their name.

Prestige Hotels and Resorts in communities across the region continue to fundraise on behalf of JoeAnna’s House, donating thousands every year.

JoeAnna’s House is funded and operated by The KGH Foundation, an independent, Board-directed, non-profit organization. JoeAnna’s House is managed with a small staff and dedicated volunteers. We look forward to many more years of service to families from across the interior of British Columbia.
